We have had a team from the Vineyard Church in Dayton visiting the Naomi’s Heart Mission this week. As a part of their outreach, they went with our Community Service Ministry (CSM) team to Malok Labangal, General Santos City, which is near the Saragani Bay. The people in this area are very needy. There are many poor. Many of them are fishermen.
Pastor Gregg spoke at the adult Bible study, while others in the team went to sing and be a part of the children’s lesson time. After the lessons were over, the medical team set up and prepared to do medical screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and to give any care for wounds and other needs. At the same time, Pastor Gregg and others from the Vineyard team felt led to begin praying over people for healing. They prayed for people with tuberculosis, asthma, back and neck pain, and many other needs. A woman came up with blurred vision and was prayed over. As the prayers ended, her vision cleared and she was able to see. Another person came with hearing difficulties and as prayers were said, that person also was healed.
One of the young people on the team, an 18 year old named Becca, began to prophesy as a drizzle began to fall over us. She said she felt that God was telling her that in the same way that the rains were falling on us, God’s spirit of healing was going to continue to fall upon this village long after we were gone from there. God was going to continue to move and lives would be changed, people would be healed and God would be glorified.
It was an awesome experience to be a part of a day so completely filled with God’s Spirit at work through this Vineyard team. We serve a God of miracles who still heals if we are willing to open ourselves to His leading.
